Katharyn A. Bond is an attorney and founder of Kat Bond Law. She has over 20 years legal experience in private practice counseling small businesses and creative entrepreneurs. Katharyn handles a wide range of legal matters, including commercial transactions and litigation, intellectual property (trademarks, copyright), fashion law, media, eCommerce, licensing and sponsorship, and variety of general corporate and governance matters. She strives to provide a seasoned business perspective and tactical business solutions.

Katharyn received her JD from Hastings College of the Law, and clerked at the United States District Court, N.D. California to the Honorable Maria-Elena James, U.S. Magistrate Judge. She is admitted to the California State Bar.

 

Prior to opening KAT BOND LAW, Katharyn privately practiced fashion law as Of Counsel to NIMA KATZ LAW, served as General Counsel to Film Analytics, LLC, a New York based film technology start-up offering analytics to global film market participants, and represented many documentary filmmakers and content creators in a variety of legal matters ranging from corporations, financing, new media, intellectual property (copyright and trademark), rights and clearances, employment law, music licensing, production, rights acquisition, and distribution.

She founded the FASHION LAW STUDIO, an online legal education platform for fashion designer, taught legal seminars on fashion law issues, wrote blog posts for fashion designers and creative entrepreneurs, and was a guest blogger for Maker's Row.

 

Previously, she produced the independent documentary films, WHAM BAM ISLAM! (PBS/Independent Lens), SEED (ITVS) and the Off-Off Broadway theatre productions of the VAGINA MONOLOGUES, THE ONE FESTIVAL, and SONNETS FROM AN OLD CENTURY.
